Future diplomats in action at PSA Model UN
Published on: 31 July 2025
Model United Nations (UN) is one of the PSA’s premier invitational events, offering students a unique opportunity to hone their public speaking, critical thinking, negotiation and diplomacy skills.
Held at the University of Western Australia, the event challenged students to debate and propose amendments to both a prepared and an unseen resolution on “The Question of Cyber Security.” With cyber threats becoming an increasingly pressing issue in global affairs, students were challenged to think strategically and ethically about national security, digital sovereignty, and international cooperation.
Christ Church entered four teams, representing the nations of France, Kenya, India, and Ecuador:
Team France: Rohan Shetty (Year 10), Jack Baker (Year 11) and Christian Lorbeer (Year 10)
Team Kenya: Alex Reed, Isaac Passage and Darius Choo (all Year 10)
Team India: Evan Ratcliffe, Cosimo Aloi and Vivek Varghese (all Year 10)
Team Ecuador: Jeremy Gweja, Jake Carlson and Lachlan Hagen (all Year 10)
Congratulations to Team France, who were named Runner-Up Best Team, recognised for their excellence in research, negotiation, and articulate debate.
