International Women’s Day
Published on: 12 March 2026
Sunday 8 March marked International Women’s Day, a global moment to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in our school community and around the world.
At Christ Church, we are proud to foster a culture that values diversity, respect and inclusion, creating an environment where every member of our community can thrive. International Women’s Day is also an opportunity for our students to reflect on the important role women play in their lives and reflect on the many ways women lead, inspire and shape our world.
Last week, our School Prefects had the opportunity to cross the fence and join students from Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) for a special panel event featuring inspiring MLC Collegians. The discussion offered valuable insights into leadership, resilience and the impact women have across many fields.
Continuing this focus, Ms Katy Moore, Deputy Principal of MLC, and the MLC Prefects attended our Senior School Assembly this morning. The MLC Captain addressed the assembly on the significance of the day, while Principal Alan Jones and School Chaplain Nick Russell also shared their reflections on the importance of recognising and supporting women in our community.
Please enjoy this video, where our students share their reflections in response to the question: “Who is a woman who inspires you, and why?”
