The School swim team proudly took out the Tregonning Cup at last Thursday’s PSA Inters at HBF Stadium in front of a packed stadium. Christ Church won by one point, with Hale School finishing in second place with 1047 points. In third place was Trinity College (800), followed by Wesley College (755), Scotch College (702), Aquinas College (677), and Guildford Grammar (391).

Captain of Swimming, Ben Cunningham accepted the Tregonning Cup on behalf of the School, presented on the night by Stephen Webber from the Public Schools’ Association (PSA).

Kai Wylie (Year 8) was again a standout performer, breaking the PSA record in the Division 1 50m Freestyle in 26.51 seconds. Hugh Moran (Year 10) set a new time of 54.69 seconds in the Under 16 100m Freestyle over the previous record of 55.67 seconds.

Jonte Blake (Year 12) set several records on the night including finishing 29.11 seconds in the Open 50m Backstroke and setting a new time of 53.67 seconds in the Open 100m Freestyle, breaking the old record of 53.80 seconds held by old boy Tommaso D’Orsogna from 2007.
