Christ Church rowers took part in the annual House Rowing Regatta last Sunday, a fabulous event where boys compete over a short course of approximately 350m.

Designed for fellowship, fun and to showcase all that is great about Christ Church rowing, the event saw our Year 12 rowers (most of whom were members of the School’s Head of the River winning crew) win the Challenge VIIIs and the House VIIIs final taken out by Wolsey House.

On the day, the incoming student leadership team was announced:

  • Captain: Jackson Bergsma
  • Vice-Captain: Zac Reed
  • Rowing Committee: Henry Chandler, Ethan Wilson and Harry Stevenson

“Congratulations to the Wolsey VIII who took out line honours on the day. Being an old Wolsey boy and having Mitchell Forbes stroke the crew was very special,” said out-going Teacher in Charge of Rowing, Mr Justin Forbes.

“It was a fabulous way to conclude the 2019 rowing season and great to see an Old Boys’ VIII and the MLC First VIII participating in this event.”

“It has been a privilege to give back to my old school and to Christ Church rowing.”

The School would like to thank everyone for supporting the 2019 House Regatta, with special mention to the Year 11 parents and to Torre Butchers for donating sausages for the much-loved sausage sizzle.
