The 2019 cross country season has been a highly successful one with our senior team currently sitting in 2nd place.

Teacher in Charge of Cross Country, Mr Jacob Marai has been exceptionally pleased with the teams’ performance this season and says,“With the last race this weekend, the boys are determined to finish strongly by challenging Aquinas with a win in the final ‘All Schools’ 8km race.”

The teams’ success throughout the winter season has largely been credited to its junior runners who have helped achieved outstanding wins.

“Each summer I go on a recruitment drive to encourage younger boys to join the cross country team and this is really paying off,” said Mr Marai.

“Our best runner this season is Year 8 student Joshua Neervort who recently came 3rd in the entire PSA. In fact, we have five boys in Years 7 and 8 who are consistently running in the top 10 places for our team.”

Parents, students and members of the school community are encouraged to come along this Saturday to cheer on Christ Church! The All Schools’ 8km race takes place at Kings Park commencing at 9.30am.
