Christ Church achieved its highest score in history at last week’s Interschool Athletics Carnival, placing 5th in the PSA event.

Final results on the day were:

1st place – Scotch (1738 points)
2nd place – Hale (1667 points)
3rd place – Aquinas (1497.5 points)
4th place – Trinity (1492.5 points)
5th place – Christ Church (1271.5 points)
6th place – Wesley (916.5 points)
7th place – Guilford (889 points)

Teacher in Charge of Athletics, Mr Tim Chaney commented, “The Athletics team, co-captained by Noah Keleman and Liam Tubby, have had an outstanding season this year.”

“They have trained diligently and really deserved these results. The strength that we have in the younger years bodes very well for results in the future.”

New records this season from both Interschool and Quads carnivals include:

  • U/14 90m Hurdles – Vageesha Jayasinghe (13.75 seconds)
  • U/13 800m – Jonah Hanikeri (2.17.90 seconds)
  • U/13 1500m – Jonah Hanikeri (4.41.72 seconds)
  • U/13 4 x100m relay Kalani Chong-Sue, Aaron Goh, Ryan De Marchi, Massey Doolan (51.75 seconds)
  • U/17 800m – Jes Bromley (1.58.63 seconds)
  • U/15 1500m – Joshua Neervoort (4.34.0 seconds)
