Romsey secured another victory at this week’s Senior School House Swimming Carnival, building on its winning streak to make it five years in a row.

Finishing with 749.5 points, Romsey successfully retained the Lapinski-McCoubrie Cup ahead of Wolsey (687), Queenslea (686), Moyes (659.5), Noake (632), Hill (619), Craigie (544) and Jupp (537).

Our age group champions and cup winners on the night were:

  • Under 13 Staff Cup – Jackson Anderson (Hill)
  • Under 14 Curtis Burking Cup – Kalani Chong Sue (Moyes)
  • Under 15 Healy Cup – Charlie Reynolds (Romsey)
  • Under 16 H N Giles Cup – Thomas Michael (Queenslea)
  • Under 17 Centenary Cup – Kai Wylie (Noake)
  • Open McGlew Cup – Joshua Shipton (Romsey) and Jason Lu (Moyes)
  • Lidbury Cup (Open Butterfly) – Jason Lu (Moyes)

Key highlights included:

  • Jackson Anderson (Hill) setting a new time record of 27.41 (previous record 27.85) in the U/13 50m Freestyle and equal record of 31.15 (existing record 31.15) in the U/13 50m Butterfly.
  • Kai Wylie (Noake) setting a new time record of 24.74 (previous record 24.76) in the U/17 50m Freestyle.
  • Jason Lu (Moyes) setting a new time record of 25.85 (previous record 26.52) in the U/21 50m Butterfly.
  • Tom Fox, Angus Kay, Matt Shephard and Kai Wylie of Noake House setting a new time record of 1:48.86 (previous record 1:51.99) in the U/17 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay.

Director of Sport, Mr Anthony Lynch said, “It was an amazing night with new records engraved into CCGS sporting history.”

“Well done to Romsey on taking out the House Swimming Carnival once again, and to our age group champions, cup winners and new record holders.”

“The annual House Swimming Carnival encourages participation from all boys and it’s always fantastic to see boys of varying abilities give it a go.”

“Our official swim team is looking forward to representing the School at the PSA Inters and hopefully, safeguarding the PSA swimming title for the fourth year straight.”
