Year 10 students tackle the Venture expedition
Published on: 20 November 2025
This week, our Year 10 students are in the midst of their highly anticipated Venture expedition. Spanning 11 days, they are trekking through the breathtaking landscapes of D’Entrecasteaux and Walpole–Nornalup National Parks.
Guided by dedicated teachers and experienced outdoor specialists, the students will cover more than 200 kilometres of rugged terrain, journeying from Walpole to Denmark. Along the way, they will take part in hands-on activities such as fishing, rafting, and other outdoor challenges.
Venture has been a cornerstone of the Christ Church Outdoor Education program for 35 years and is a compulsory part of a Year 10 student’s education. The expedition fosters independence, resilience, teamwork, and a deep connection with nature. Building on their Kooringal foundations, students develop essential skills, from managing risk in remote terrain to practicing respectful campsite behaviour and supporting the conservation of the south coast environment.
Excitement is high as the students tackle each challenge. We look forward to sharing photos and updates on social media as their journey unfolds.
