This week all staff and students came together on Remembrance Day on the Prep School Oval to pay respect for the sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces and civilians in times of war.

Five freshly promoted cadet sergeants, who form the leadership group of the cadet corps, conducted a flag raising ceremony, Music Teacher Christopher Draber played the Last Post and Reveille and School Marshall Ken Allen read the Ode of Remembrance.

The ceremonies commenced with three flags, the Australian, Western Australian and the Australian Aboriginal flags, at half-mast. During the Last Post the cadets raised the flags to the top of the mast and returned them to the half-mast position. A minute’s silence was observed. At the conclusion, during Reveille the flags were returned to the top of the mast.
