School assemblies often celebrate significant community and school events as well as highlighting the outstanding achievements of boys at Christ Church – today was no exception.

Today’s NAIDOC assembly captured everyone’s attention. It gave rich insights into the Indigenous culture through music, song, stories and dance. I thank the many staff who contributed to this memorable occasion and to Mr Michael Ralph for his tireless energy in leading our Indigenous Program. Throughout the week our Indigenous boys have led our NAIDOC celebrations with the staff versus Indigenous students’ basketball match on Monday during lunchtime. Congratulations to the boys on a comfortable win and to Liam Henry for setting the stadium alight with his sensational shooting skills. Last night was the opening of the Tied to her Art Exhibition, featuring tie designs by our Indigenous students which reflect colours and stories shared with significant women in their life. I highly recommend this fantastic exhibition to the entire Christ Church community.

This weekend is an important round of the winter sport season as it may determine the outcome of three PSA titles that we are striving to win. It also happens to be the local derby against our neighbouring rivals Scotch College. I hope as many supporters as possible can come along and cheer for our boys.

Finally, today the boys were encouraged to attend the musical comedy Big Fish. This music and drama production promises to be an outstanding performance and I strongly recommend it to all members of the school community. To book your tickets, click here.
