  • Reflections

The final week with the Year 12s has been a wonderful time of celebration from farewelling our current Year 12 cohort, congratulating our prize winners and announcing our 2024 School and House Prefects. I am sure there has been a mixture of elation, relief and potential exhaustion amongst our Year 12 families and staff after preparing the students for their final ATAR exams. I wish each Year 12 the very best as they work through their study period for their ATAR exams and beyond.

Finally, I would like to convey my thanks to all the students for the way they acknowledged the Year 12 leavers and congratulated the new Captain of School Jeremiah Wang, Vice-Captain Jakob Akhlil, and other School Prefects in the service that was conducted this week.

It is during these periods of change that we reflect on our own experiences. As members of our community have reflected on their experiences over the last week, whether as a student, a staff member or as a parent, it makes you think about those things that are really of value. Whilst the experiences we have in life are significant, when all the celebrations begin to fade and all the exams are done for this graduating group, it is the relationships with teachers and classmates that count and remain steadfast in our memory.

This week we meet our rivals from the other side of the train line in the local derby. It is always a great set of fixtures against Scotch and we look to giving our best in all our games.
