After a busy but rewarding first week, it was great to see all of our boys settle into the Christ Church Preparatory way of life. Our co-curricular activities are all up and running and it has been terrific to see so many boys take up either before or after school pursuits. Additionally, Summer sport training commenced for Years 5 and 6, with our first fixture taking place against Wesley in Basketball, Cricket, Tennis, Volleyball, Sailing and Water Polo.
Our House, Chapel and Class Captains for Term 1 were presented to the school community with Michael de Sousa, as the Preparatory School Captain. I would like to congratulate all of our leaders and wish them all the very best in their roles.
Parent teacher interviews have been taking place and I hope these have provided an opportunity to meet with your son’s teachers and prepare for the year ahead. Further to my presentation last Wednesday night, I mentioned some useful resources and tips about managing distractions. I would like to highlight the School’s Building Good Men blog as another reference point for parents.
Chinese New Year was recently celebrated and many of our classes took part in a Chinese painting workshop in the Global Studies room. Happy New Year – 新年快乐.
