CCGS World Edition
Head of Prep School
Published on: 2 November 2017
Excellence is a core value at our school and we love celebrating the excellence our boys demonstrate in all facets of school life. Music, drama, fine arts, sport and academics are all celebrated at Christ Church.
Academic achievement is the first amongst equals and tomorrow at Prep School Assembly 115 boys will be presented with 328 academic distinctions, high distinctions, prizes, awards, and state medals.
To put this in perspective, most competitions focus on Years 4 to 6. Our prizes awarded in Year 1 were literally the only opportunity these boys had, so from Years 2 to 6, 28% of our boys are being acknowledged for academic excellence.
That is not ‘good work,’ that is academic ‘excellence’, and every one of the prizes and awards will acknowledge an amazing achievement. Congratulations to all the boys.
Over the coming weeks we will be trialling the delivery of my CCGS World article via video, and I look forward to your feedback on this new style of communication for our weekly update.
