Tours of the Prep School for prospective families occur every couple of weeks, and is an opportunity for families to see the school in action. At the moment we are able to offer limited places in Year 4 for 2019 and 2020, so if you are aware of anyone wishing to give their son a Christ Church education please direct them to our website to book a tour or call 9442 1555.

This week we certainly have a school in motion, with a visit from Senator Dean Smith for our Year 6 boys in preparation for the Canberra Tour, two Year 5 classes at Kooringal, a Year 4 class returning from Zoo Camp, swimming lessons for Pre-Primary to Year 3.

Our sleep outs, tours and camps, swimming lessons and learning by the river provide our boys with so many opportunities to build independence and resilience, both significant markers for success in future life. It is by overcoming challenges and problems these skills are learned and the greatest challenge for us as parents. Not swooping in to remove challenges and roadblocks is hard as a parent, but crucial for the development of our sons.

Importantly, these opportunities also provide the boys with the chance to not only look after themselves, but their friends and have their friends look after them. This collaboration is a significant aspect to the School’s culture. It is also very visible from Pre-Primary through to Year 12 and a critical ingredient in our School’s many successes.
