This week the School has been proudly celebrating National Boarding Week (NBW), which runs from 15 to 21 May.

NBW is a time when boarding schools nationally showcase the invaluable role that boarding plays in the education of young Australians.

At Christ Church NBW is filled with events that celebrate the diversity of our boarding community with students and their families from a range of international, indigenous and rural backgrounds.

On Monday, the boys raised over $400 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service during a mechanical bull riding competition with residential students inviting their day boy counterparts to faceoff.

A staple of the annual NBW celebrations, the boarders versus staff basketball game, will see the boys pitted against their teachers this afternoon to see who will take home glory on the court.

Christ Church Grammar School Director of Boarding Todd Harnwell said this week was an opportunity for the School to showcase the benefits of a boarding education and how it can transform the lives of young people.

“NBW is a time for us to celebrate our tight-knit residential community and the lifelong friendships and connections that are formed here.”

“Through NBW, we hope to highlight the sense of community and belonging that our boarders experience, as well as the exceptional academic and pastoral support they receive.”
