Last week the Preparatory School boys enjoyed a marvelous array of cultural activities in celebration of Access Asia Week.

An annual event in the Preparatory School, Access Asia Week offers opportunities for the boys to learn about and engage with various Asian cultures, to understand their global connections and develop their understandings of intercultural understandings. The week’s activities included:

  • Japanese Origami Making
  • Bollywood Dance Workshop
  • A showing of the film Raya and the Last Dragon during lunch time on Friday.

The week’s activities culminated in the Access Asia Assembly on Friday morning, during which the Prep School Chinese Guzheng Ensemble performed for the first time. The ensemble have been rehearsing diligently all term under the guidance of Ms Xueyan Chen, a Guzheng specialist at the Confucius Institute at UWA.

“These wonderful activities enable our students to learn about other cultures, understand their global connections and further their journey in becoming global citizens.”
