At the end of last term, Year 6 fathers and friends had an opportunity to share a special morning with their sons as part of the Year 6 Father-Son Breakfast during the Preparatory School’s annual Week of the Arts. The annual event is co-ordinated by the Parents’ Auxiliary.

Headmaster Garth Wynne welcomed the group of more than 200 people to what was the first in a series of breakfasts throughout their Christ Church journey. In Years 6, 8 and 12, boys attend father-son breakfasts. In Year 10, mothers are the special guests. Mr Wynne reminded the group of the importance of fostering this relationship as the years move on.

The breakfast was just the start to a busy morning for boys, fathers and friends alike. When breakfast concluded, the boys took their guests back to their classrooms to engage in some fierce debating on the topic ‘What is good enough for the fathers should be good enough for the sons’.

At the conclusion of the debates, the fathers and friends had an opportunity to look through some of the work the boys have done throughout the year in what was a special time for everyone involved.
