Boys and staff in our Preparatory School have now embraced and celebrated Access Asia Week for the seventh consecutive year.

Activities this week included:

  • Kung Fu workshops in the Chapel Forecourt led by Sifu Gawain Siu from the Ging Mo Academy
  • Asian cooking tutorials on making tangyuan (Chinese dessert), sushi and Vietnamese rice paper rolls
  • a cultural workshop covering calligraphy, origami making, board games and traditional Japanese games
  • an Asian tour talk by Akio Ho, Matthew Hamdorf, Jordan Chan and Tobey Martin from our Senior School

“It was a privilege this week to have two speakers from Curtin University offer a talk to our teaching staff on Beyond the Stereotypes: Understanding students and parents from East Asian cultures. The session was both informative and helpful to those who attended,” says Mandarin teacher, Li Liu.

“Each year, Access Asia Week provides a fantastic opportunity to highlight the diversity of Asian languages, culture and history with our boys and staff.”

“Special thanks go to all teachers, students and parents who have supported with the week’s activities.”
