This week Christ Church has been showcasing the wonderful culture and cuisine from Japan, China and France as part of Languages Week celebrations.

“Languages Week is an opportunity to raise awareness of the benefits of language, and highlight the linguistic diversity in our community,” explains Head of Languages, Mr Vinko Shain.”

“The School’s hope is for all boys to become global citizens and this type of learning encourages cross-cultural understanding.”

Some of the cultural activities enjoyed by students and staff this week have been:

  • Kung Fu classes in the Preparatory School
  • Sushi rolling masterclasses
  • Enjoying French crepes and Japanese ‘Street Food’
  • Listening to music by French musician G*Rey 
  • Learning Year 8 Science in Japanese
  • Year 9 students visiting the Japanese School in Perth
  • Year 12 French students dining at P’tite Ardoise
  • An Iron Chef cooking challenge
