Last week, the Preparatory School celebrated the Chinese New Year with a variety of culturally rich, fun and hands-on activities.

There were various opportunities for the boys to develop intercultural understandings, broaden their minds and assist in their development as global citizens.

The boys were provided with a Chinese challenge, enjoyed face painting, paper cut workshops, a taste of China during a fried rice cooking demonstration and learned about Chinese legends, superstitions and traditions surrounding the Chinese New Year celebrations.

“The boys had a fabulous week, participating in the activities with passion and enthusiasm,” said Mandarin teacher, Li Lui.

“It was a great opportunity to promote and celebrate Chinese language and culture.”
