Curiosity and creativity took centre stage at this year’s ENIGMA Presentation Evening, where gifted students in Years 7 to 9 shared the projects they have poured their ideas and energy into.

Part of the Centre for Excellence ENIGMA Program, the evening celebrated learning driven by passion. Each student chose a topic that genuinely inspired them, whether a scientific concept, phenomenon, or idea, and developed a project that brings it to life. Every project had to include a physical representation of their topic, an interactive component for guests to engage with, and a written explanation.

This year’s displays ranged from static electricity and electrolysis to renewable energy systems, the physics of basketball, plastic recycling, and even student-designed apps. Every project reflected deep curiosity and ownership, showing what happens when learning moves beyond textbooks into imagination and real discovery.
