Soli is one of the most anticipated events in the Christ Church calendar – an annual showcase of our exceptional Year 12 musicians. This year’s performance, Soli ’25, will take place on Saturday 6 September, and excitement is building among students, ensembles, and the Music Department as the big night approaches.

What many may not realise is the immense planning and preparation behind the scenes to bring this event to life. The journey to Soli ’25 began as far back as Term 4 last year, when then-Year 11 students submitted expressions of interest to perform. Each musician selected their own repertoire and with full creative freedom, many chose pieces by artists they admire, making for a deeply personal and powerful program.

The evening will also feature a range of CCGS music ensembles, including the Symphony Orchestra, Choir, Chamber Orchestra, Rock Bands, and Big Band 1, showcasing the broad musical talent across the School.

For the thirteen Year 12 performers, Soli ’25 represents the culmination of years of hard work, in some cases, up to 11 years in the CCGS Music program. Taking the stage in front of family, friends, staff, and peers is a significant milestone, and one that each student will carry with pride and fond memories for years to come.
