The Rock Workshop Extravaganza once again lit up the Chapel Forecourt. The event featured 15 student bands and around 120 performers from Years 1 to 11. It remains a highlight of the Music Department calendar and a celebration of the students’ hard work throughout Semester 2.

Nearly 350 family members, friends, and staff gathered on the sunny spring afternoon. They enjoyed live music, picnics, pizza, ice cream, and a wonderful sense of community.

The crowd was treated to an electrifying setlist which included Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana), Don’t Look Back in Anger (Oasis), Zombie (The Cranberries), and Take Me to Church (Hozier). The performances also included original songs written by senior students.

“For the teachers, it’s an incredibly rewarding experience to see our students take the stage with such confidence and have an absolute blast doing so,” said Mr Joe Grech.

“It was truly heartwarming to see the wider Christ Church community – proud parents, families, and friends – come together to support the performers.”

A huge thank you goes to the Music staff Brendan Biddiss, Cecilia Brandolini, Isaac Davies, Joe Grech, Warren Hall, Daniel Mangan, Sam Rocchi, Chiara Kingwell, and Tahlia Denn. We also extend our gratitude to the Friends of Music for their support in making the event such a success.
