House Shout brings the house down!
Published on: 13 October 2025
The Chapel hosted two lively events this term as both the Preparatory and Senior Schools held their annual House Shouts. Each House prepared and presented a well-known song, working together to perform in front of their peers.
In the Preparatory School, four Houses delivered energetic renditions of early 2000s hits. In the Senior School, the eight Houses sang pop hits showcasing teamwork, fun and friendly rivalry.
The House system is a key part of student life at Christ Church. From Pre-Primary to Year 12, students are part of a House community that provides support, connection, and a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom. This system encourages friendships across year levels, promotes leadership, and cultivates a strong sense of belonging.
Throughout the year, Houses compete in events such as Swimming, Cross Country, Athletics and House Shout. These contribute to the Giles Shield in the Preparatory School and the Beatty Cup in the Senior School.
The House Shout is one of many ways students are encouraged to embrace the Arts and contribute to their House. It’s not just about performance, it’s about participation, creativity, and the shared experience of working towards a common goal.
