It has been an exciting time in the School’s music calendar, with students from across year groups stepping into the spotlight for a series of unforgettable performances.

Last Monday evening, the Camelot Arts Club was transformed by the smooth sounds of jazz as 40 of our talented students took to the stage. Under the expert mentorship of Oli Taylor and James Chapman, the students embraced the intimate venue, delivering an wonderful evening of jazz to a captivated audience.

On Sunday, over 130 students brought energy and excitement to the iconic Rosemount Hotel for this year’s Rock at Rosemount. Featuring 17 student bands from Years 2 to 12, the event saw the audience enjoying a mix of original songs and classic rock favourites by artists such as The Strokes, Guns N’ Roses, Queen, Radiohead, and Oasis.

Joe Grech, Director of the Rock Workshop, shared:

“This event was a showcase of the talents and hard work of all our Rock Workshop students.”

“With more than 400 people in attendance, the atmosphere was an exciting and supportive one, celebrating the achievements of our students.” he said.

The week of music continued with the Preparatory School Winter Music Concert, held in the Chapel on Tuesday evening. Families, friends, and staff were treated to a program that reflected both the musical growth and infectious enthusiasm of our Preparatory students. The repertoire ranged from traditional favourites like Ode to Joy, and Three Blind Mice, alongside renditions of modern hits including Lovely Day by Bill Withers, The Happy Song by Imogen Heap, and Best Day of My Life by American Authors.

Whether it was Jazz, Rock, or Classical, these events showcased the breadth of talent across our school and the joy that music brings to our community.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible music staff for their dedication and passion in nurturing our students’ musical journeys.
