Christ Church once again dominated ProgComp, the High School Programming Competition, with three of our teams placing in the top 10.

Finishing in 3rd place our Year 12 team consisted of Ben Davison-Petch, Marcus Handley and Nicholas Patrikeos. Placing 4th our Year 10 team of Angus Finch, Max Godfrey and Aditya Muthukattu, and in 9th place the Year 9 team of Joshua Chen, Roman Green and Kenneth Lo.

This competition, which requires teams to solve as many of the set programming tasks as possible, is an initiative of UNSW’s School of Computer Science and Engineering. It offers students an opportunity to develop their skills in thinking about and implementing algorithms and compete with school teams from around the nation.

“This year 14 teams from Christ Church participated in the Main Round of competition,” explains Teacher in Charge of Informatics, Mr Jan Honnens.

“At the conclusion of this round, three of our teams finished in the top 10 which is the best result we have ever had. Two of these teams have now been selected to take part in the Grand Final which will be contested at UNSW in September.”

Congratulations to all boys who took part in this year’s competition, with special mention to those who finished in the top 10 of Australia.
