There was a wonderful turnout at the Mothers and Sons ‘Time and Space’ event on Wednesday, as over 200 people gathered to discuss times of transition in our boys’ lives.

Hosted by the Centre for Ethics and the Wynne Centre for Boys’ Health and Wellbeing, the event was facilitated by Bill Jennings creator and founder of ‘Time & Space’. Bill led discussions about how times of transition can be major events in a boy’s life, bringing many challenges, joys and a roller coaster of emotions for mother and son.

“This inaugural event provided a unique opportunity for mothers, female mentors and their sons to reflect on their important relationship. This coupled with the opportunity for carefully guided interactions with other mums and their boys was invaluable and will no doubt spark some further discussion moving forward which we feel is a significant benefit to the Christ Church community,” said Liam Casson, Director of the Wynne Centre for Boys’ Health and Wellbeing.

The evening concluded with a magical moment for mothers and sons, as they shared treasures they had brought – teddies, baby books and childhood drawings. This spurred tears, conversation and a lot of laughter, it was a special time for all involved.
