On Sunday 6 September, the School Prefects held the amusing and eventful ‘Prefect Push.’

Organised as a fundraising initiative supporting Anglicare’s Street Connect program, the event encouraged participants to push a friend or object around a 1km course. Boys used wheelbarrows, trolleys, prams, bins, laundry baskets and even a surfboard on wheels to get their teammates across the line.

Hunter Jackson (Year 12) reported on the event with the following:

The 2015 Prefect Push followed on from last year’s successful inauguration with a strong turn out from the Year 10, 11 and 12 cohorts.

This year’s dress code was ‘weird and whacky,’ and saw boys sporting loose wearing bras, dresses and even a pair of budgie smugglers.

The event raised over $10 000 in the last two years, with this year’s proceeds going to Anglicare’s Street Connect branch.

Anglicare relies heavily on support from Anglican Schools to fund their services for Perth’s homeless youth, and will be glad to hear the ‘Prefect Push’ will be continuing into the future.
