This week, 48 students and staff participated in the Leukaemia Foundation’s World’s Greatest Shave, raising over $62,000 to support Australians living with blood cancer.

Over three days, the refectory buzzed with the sound of clippers and cheers as participants shaved or cut their hair to fund life-changing research and essential support services.

Among the standout efforts was Science Teacher Tina De Klerk, who raised more than $6,000.

“Having had three family members battle different cancers in the past year, I felt it was important to raise awareness and show support for leukaemia patients and their families,” she said.

Will Lewis (Year 12) was similarly driven by personal experience.

“With a close family member recently diagnosed with leukaemia, taking part was a powerful way to raise awareness and make a meaningful contribution,” he said.

Flynn Craig (Year 12) also shared his motivation.

“Cancer has long been a part of my family’s history. The least I can do is shave my hair to show support and help those in need,” he said.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and supported this important cause. Your generosity and courage have made a lasting impact.
