Mental Health Week: Simplifying wellbeing at Christ Church
Published on: 4 September 2025
This week, Christ Church is celebrating Mental Health Week, with students participating in a variety of activities focused on self care, wellbeing, and building stronger connections.
This year’s theme, “Simplifying what it means to be well at CCGS,” reminds students that wellbeing doesn’t have to be complex. It’s about small, everyday actions such as connecting with others, taking time to pause and enjoying what you love.
Throughout the week, students have engaged in a short film screening of Chasing Calm, a youth mental health Q&A with 20Talk, a dodgeball competition, ice bath challenge, and daily wellbeing conversations during morning tutorial.
Today’s program features an exciting Student vs Staff Basketball Game, while tomorrow, Year 12 students will take time out from exam preparation for a ‘relax and recharge’ morning. It is a chance for students to reset, enjoy a warm beverage with peers, and hear from Director of the Wynne Centre for Health and Wellbeing, Brad Gardner, and School Psychologist, Michael Ralph.
Mental Health Week is part of the School’s broader Wellbeing Program, which is embedded across the curriculum and equips students with practical tools to manage their physical and mental health. These initiatives reflect Christ Church’s ongoing commitment to reducing stigma, fostering open dialogue, and empowering students to care for themselves and support one another, not just this week but all year round.
