Year 12 students inspired at Building Good Men Breakfast
Published on: 26 March 2026
Year 12 students started their Friday a little earlier for the Building Good Men Breakfast, taking part in an honest and practical conversation about life beyond school.
Hearing from a panel of successful Old Boys, including Conor Coleman (’19), the youngest Australian to summit Mount Everest, Mark Crawford (’11), who pursued collegiate American football in the United States, and Pete Wallace (’11), now working in the mining services sector, students gained firsthand insight into the moments that shaped their journeys and the lessons they carried from Christ Church.
Students asked thoughtful questions about discovering passions, navigating future pathways and what the speakers might do differently. The message was consistent: stay open to opportunities, follow what excites you and don’t compare your path to anyone else’s. There is no single path, but there is real value in showing up, staying curious and and backing yourself.
The morning finished on a high, with Mark Crawford leading a punting contest on the oval, as students and Old Boys went head-to-head to see who could kick the furthest.
Moments like this reflect the School’s commitment to providing Year 12 students meaningful opportunities to learn, reflect and grow. More than anything, the breakfast gave students a clearer sense of what lies ahead and the confidence to take it on.
