The Music Department has been a hive of activity this month with several wonderful performances taking place.

Last week a select group of Music students travelled to St George’s Cathedral in the city to perform a “Recital at One” concert. Terence Zhao (Year 7), Ares Yin (Year eight), Ari Fisher (Year 9) and Oscar Gao (Year 8) performed a variety of pieces that thrilled the audience. Tuesday saw a group of extremely talented musicians play to an audience of their families, peers and members of the Christ Church community at the annual Scholars’ Recital. The evening celebrates the musical prowess and blossoming talent of our students. A list of the performers and their pieces can be found here.

A staple in the annual calendar, on Monday jazz students will take to the stage of the iconic Ellington Jazz Club. From smooth and sultry melodies to upbeat and energetic tunes, each year our talented  jazz musicians showcase their skills and passion for this iconic genre of music. This concert is a celebration of their hard work, dedication and love for jazz and is always a night to remember.

Mark your calendars for Sunday 25 June, as our Rock Workshop bands from Years 3 to 12 will unleash their musical prowess during the much-anticipated Rock at Rosemount concert. Performing an electrifying mix of beloved covers and original compositions, these bands have poured their heart and soul into their performances. This concert promises to be an unforgettable afternoon – everyone is welcome attend.
