Football

In football, there is a great emphasis on skill development across the year groups as boys. Learning to play for the team and supporting each other at all times are crucial as we strive collectively to be successful.

Football is played during Terms 2 and 3. Boys train and play at Mt Claremont Playing Fields and McGillivray Oval with away fixtures at other school venues. The First XVIII competes in the Alcock Cup competition.

Christ Church has a highly experienced and passionate team of coaches including Peter Thorne (former VFL player, and WAFL player and coach), Brady Leckie (former AFL and WAFL player) and Luke Farmer (AFL umpire).

Tours to Melbourne run alternate years and as well as playing against local Victorian schools have the added experience of attending the ANZAC Day match at the MCG. Football is also played in the annual House Winter Sports Carnival where boys from Years 7 to 12 have a chance to compete for their house.
