Over 20 students new to the School’s Army Cadet program took part in the Recruit Induction Course in the last week of February. The first of the Army Cadet camps for 2021, the induction course focuses on learning the fundamentals of being an Army Cadet including: fieldcraft, team-based skills, first aid and drill. At night a lantern stalk was conducted, followed by a tug of war for personal training the following morning.

Concurrently, the Junior Leaders Course was held at Christ Church which covered three-days of intensive leadership training to qualify second-year cadets for the rank of Cadet Corporal. Cadets learn leadership theory, orders delivery and how to conduct a lesson to recruits. Like many of the School’s activities, both courses were combined with our friends from the St Hilda’s and Guilford Grammar School Cadet Units.
