Each term our Year 6 extension students visit the Senior School Science laboratories to participate in a range of Science investigations and inquiries.

The students plan, design and carry out open-ended investigations using the facilities and equipment available.

“These investigations are an excellent way of challenging our more able students,” explains Director of the Centre for Excellence, Dr Claire Molinari.

“By enabling the boys to work in the Senior laboratories, their investigations can be more practical in nature. Critical and creative thinking is central to their planning and analysis of results, and we are able to expose them to laboratory equipment and instrumentation.”

“These activities are also one of the many ways that we assist Year 6 students with their transition to the Senior School.”
