With the ultimate bragging rights on the line, the excitement was palpable in the Blue Gym on Tuesday as the Student All Stars from the Prep School went head-to-head against the Staff All Stars in a Dodgeball game for the ages.

After being introduced by Kim Morcom, the Staff All Stars entered the gym, taking the boos and jeers from the Prep boys in good humour. The Student All Stars were waiting for them across the gym as both teams lined up at either end of the court in a tense stand-off. After the starting whistle blew, both teams began a mad-rush to the balls in the centre

Throughout the game there were many fantastic catches, close-call dodges and pin-point accurate throws. A rule that allowed eliminated players to re-enter the game if a player hit the backboard of the basketball hoops overhead provided an interesting twist as the game ebbed and flowed with both sides gaining and losing valuable players.

After a long game that saw almost all the Prep Boys eliminated at one point, the boys were able to hang on until the siren rang signalling the end of lunch. With players still in the game on both sides the final result was called a draw. The teams will have to face-off at some point in the future to secure bragging rights.

The game took place in support of The Students’ Scholarship, selection to the Student All Stars was awarded to 20 boys who won the raffle held last week.

Izaac Couzens (Year 5) was the lucky winner of Prize One of the raffle which will see him enjoy a Grill’d lunch with three mates and a teacher of his choice, he was also awarded a coveted spot of the Students’ team.
