Christ Church has recorded an excellent result at the WA Schools Teams Sailing Regatta, with the Gold team finishing second overall after three days of racing at Nedlands Yacht Club.
The regatta brought together 14 school teams from across Western Australia, with Christ Church entering two crews. The Gold team progressed through to the grand final, winning the opening race before finishing runners-up in a best-of-five series.
The CCGS Blue team also delivered a strong performance, finishing seventh overall and winning their final race.
Teacher in Charge of Sailing, Mr Khiem Ly, said the result reflected months of preparation and commitment.
“The boys have been training consistently for over six months while balancing their academic and co-curricular responsibilities,” he said.
“The sailors’ effort, teamwork and improvement over the three days were outstanding. They should be proud of their progress and performance.”
The runner-up finish qualifies the Gold team for the National Schools Team Sailing Regatta in July in Tasmania, where they will represent Western Australia against the country’s top school teams.
