Christ Church and MLC students welcomed to Crossing the Fence Program
Published on: 30 October 2025
Yesterday, a group of Year 10 students from Christ Church and Methodist Ladies’ College (MLC) gathered for the Crossing the Fence Orientation Breakfast. It was an opportunity to learn more about the program and prepare for the year ahead.
Established in 2013, Crossing the Fence is a valued partnership between the schools. This unique collaboration enables students in Years 11 and 12 to access a broader range of subjects, attending classes across both campuses. Through this shared curriculum, students benefit from enriched academic opportunities and experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
The Orientation Breakfast provided students with the opportunity to meet staff from both schools, gain insight into the program’s structure, and hear first-hand experiences from current participants. The morning concluded with a guided tour of the MLC campus.
Subjects available through the program in 2026 include:
- Chinese: Background, First, and Second Language ATAR
- Engineering Studies ATAR
- Computer Science ATAR
- Geography ATAR
- Philosophy and Ethics ATAR
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness
At Christ Church, the development of respectful, thoughtful, and emotionally intelligent young men remains a central focus. Collaborative initiatives like Crossing the Fence play a vital role in fostering these qualities, helping students build meaningful connections and mutual respect.
