Recently our Year 10 boys and their mothers/significant females gathered in the School Refectory to enjoy a special breakfast together.

The annual Mother/Son breakfasts are a highlight of the School calendar and this year’s Year 10 event was no exception.

The breakfast was punctuated by a poignant speech from zero2hero CEO, Ms Ashlee Harrison.

Ms Harrison shared her own experience of losing a loved one and encouraged all in attendance to embrace and value the important relationships they have in their lives. She discussed the importance of resilience and the fact that carefully allowing young boys to fail – although challenging for parents – always provides valuable life lessons. Ms Harrison also presented an opportunity for the mothers and sons in attendance to learn about the different ways of expressing their love. This was based on the work by best-selling author of 5 Love Languages, Gary Chapman.
