Christ Church Grammar School was announced as a National Finalist at this year’s Fundraising Institute of Australia (FIA) Awards.

Recognised for the Most Innovative Fundraising Campaign, ‘The Students’ Scholarship’ campaign introduced in May 2019 saw boys in the Senior School lead a fundraising initiative to offer a financial-needs based scholarship to a worthy recipient.

Thanks to the boys’ commitment and the generosity of the Christ Church community, the young recipient commenced his journey in February and is now enjoying all that the School has to offer.

Director of Philanthropy, Carolyn Turner said, “Our selection to the National Finals saw us compete alongside leading international not-for-profits including the Australian Red Cross and UNICEF.”

“This campaign was introduced as an innovative approach to engage boys in fundraising, empowering them to bring about change and make a positive difference in the community.”

“The boys achieved their three-year target in the first year with support from the broader community. Parents, grandparents, old boys and staff all got behind them to help achieve their goal, with significant numbers of new or lapsed donors joining the campaign.”

“We wish to thank everyone who got behind the campaign to help make it all happen.”
