This week our Year 1 boys learned how to make pancakes to mark Shrove Tuesday.

Reverend Nicholas Russell then joined the boys to teach them about the meaning of Shrove Tuesday and the significance of Lent before cooking the pancakes with their Year 1 teachers.

Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is a Christian holiday that marks the start of the Lenten season, which leads up to Easter. It is traditionally a day of feasting and indulgence before the period of fasting and sacrifice during Lent. In many cultures, pancakes are a common food associated with this day.
