Earlier this week, staff from across the School took part in mental health first aid training, which taught participants how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing worsening of a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

Master Trainer/Director of the Fremantle Mental Health Station Sydel Weinstein delivered the course, which was organised by the Wynne Centre for Health and Wellbeing and aimed to provide participants with the ability to develop their individual capabilities to manage community mental health issues that may arise in the future.

During high school years, mental health problems are among the leading causes of falling grades, problems with friends and relationships, and substance use or abuse, and they can have lifelong impact.
