Today we are launching a fundraiser for our Year 11 student Fergus Egerton-Warburton, who has been struck by illness.

Fergus set out on a holiday with his father at the beginning of the year to hike the Kokoda Trail, but after only a few days away, he became very ill and was taken to hospital for examination. A scan revealed a 5cm mass in his cerebellum. Three days later he was in surgery for nine hours to remove a tumour. He lost the ability to walk and talk – going from a very fit young man to facing a challenging road to recovery.

In honour of Fergus and his family, the School is hosting a fundraiser to ‘adopt a room’ at Ronald McDonald House for two years. The cost is $22,000 in total and will go towards supporting families with seriously ill children.

Today and tomorrow are Giving Days with the students hosting a sausage sizzle during lunch today. If you would like to donate, please go here.
