Battlecode 2018
Over 1000 teams battled it out at this year’s Battlecode competition, MIT's premier programming event. Year 11 Christ Church student Marcus Handley and team entered the US based competition, taking out second place in the finals and winning a shared prize of $6174 USD. read more
Christ Church old boy recognised for service to community
The Father Frank Sheehan Award for Service to Community was launched in 2017 to recognise and celebrate outstanding service by a member of the Christ Church community. Last week, Christ Church old boy Dr Grant Fergusson Stewart (’56) was announced as the inaugural winner of this award for his ongoing volunteer work in the area of medical surgery. read more

Three years in a row for Romsey at House Swimming Carnival
Romsey House claimed its third consecutive victory at the Senior School House Swimming Carnival on Tuesday evening. Year 9 student, Kai Wylie broke the School’s Under 15 50m Freestyle record, which has stood since 2008. Kai swam the distance in 25.69 seconds. read more

Past Drama student to appear in local play
Following his performance in Garrick Theatre’s production of Tennessee William’s The Glass Menagerie in 2017, Christ Church old boy Kael McGrechan (‘16) received various nominations for ‘best performance by a youth.’ This included nominations in each Breakthrough Award category and the Brian Maddox Adjudicator’s Youth Award, the latter of which he received. read more
Cadets complete promotion courses for senior leadership positions
Between 6 to 14 January, Christ Church Grammar School Army Cadets attended the Cadet Under Officer and Warrant Officer courses held at Leeuwin Barracks and Bindoon Training Area, where Cadet Sergeants (CDTSGT) Zhou, Rocchi, McQuillan and Maloney qualified as platoon commanders by completing the CUO course, and CDTSGT Kay attended the WO course to fulfil the role of Company Sergeant Major. read more
